We produce the most tender and most flavorful grass-fed natural beef you will find. Not only better for you, but better tasting than any corn-fed beef. No corn, no hormones, no antibiotics, no nasty feedlots. Just our ranch, our hay, our grass and alfalfa, and a few of our neighbor's apples!

Why Grass Fed?

The Healthy Choice
The health advantages of grass-fed beef are legion, lower in fat and calories overall than industrial beef, yet higher in healthy Omega3 fatty acids, CLA, and such. And with our grass-fed beef there are no hormones or antibiotics used. We could go on and on and on. A good website to visit to learn more: www.eatwild.com. Another local producer of grass fed cattle has tested his ribeye, which came in lower in lipids (fat) and lower in cholesterol than a skinless chicken breast! Our cattle breed is different and we work hard to fatten our cattle, so ours would likely test higher, but still much lower than corn-fed beef.

The Safe Choice
E.coli scare after E.coli scare and you would think the industrial food industry and their regulators would fix the problem. Yet their systems of food production are so wrongheaded and ill-designed there doesn't seem to be much hope for that. E.coli has been shown to thrive in the stomachs of cows being fed corn in a feedlot. And, of course, the feedlot itself is filthy. And from that they go to the industrial processing that mixes the meat from thousands of cows into the same hamburger to almost insure that anything that goes wrong will affect thousands of people. On the other hand, our cows are born here, grow up here, and die here, all on the range and on pasture, without crowding or any other unnatural inputs or conditions.

The Tasty Choice
Check out our testimonials. With three weeks of dry aging our beef is surprisingly tender and wonderfully flavorful. The apples we feed certainly help, but this is not an anomaly. Well-produced grass-fed steaks have beaten out the best corn-fed steaks in blind taste tests.

The Right for the World Choice
Why support an industrial food system that is broken and unsafe? Why support a system that involves filthy and inhumane treatment of animals? Why support a system built around the monoculture of heavily-subsidized corn and all that it entails?  Why do any of that when you have a far superior choice?

The Right $$ Choice
Yes, dealing with a quarter of beef can be a hassle and force some lifestyle adjustments. But on balance you will be paying no more than if you shopped for all the same cuts at Safeway. Your dollars will not go to industrial growers, processors, chemical companies, the trucking industry, or large retailers.
